هدف تربیت افرادی است که با معلومات علمی و اطلاعات و شناخت موارد فنی و اجرایی لازم بتوانند نقشه‌ها، دستورالعمل‌های اجرایی، زمینه‌های مختلف زیرسازی راه‌ و عملیات خاکی (مسائل مربوط به قشرهای زیرآسفالت ـ پیاده کردن مسیر راه و غیره) را درک کنند و به کمک کارگران، استادکاران و سایر عوامل فنی و امکانات لازم و یا راهنمایی کارشناسان، آنها را به مراحل اجرا درآورند. داوطلب این گرایش باید در دروس ریاضی، فیزیک و فنی، دبیرستان قوی بوده و با توجه به سختی‌کار از شرایط جسمی لازم برخوردار باشد. فارغ‌التحصیلان این گرایش می‌توانند در شرکت‌های عمومی،‌ بخش دولتی و همه کارگاه‌هایی که به طریقی با راه‌سازی سر و کار دارند، به عنوان تکنسین زیرسازی انواع راه‌ها، راه‌آهن، حفر تونل و موارد مشابه مشغول به کار شوند.
